We focus on teaching preventative behavioural foundations to puppies and offer problem solving techniques for clients suffering with canine behavioural or obedience issues, either pre-existing or new. We aim to use our experience and expertise to help treat and manage more specialized behavioural conditions, focusing heavily on behaviour modification.
Are you looking for a doggy daycare for days or even overnight stays? If your need is for short or longterm boarding, we've got you covered! We also offer a safe way for your canine to play through our Canine Social Club.

Day Boarding
This service is available to clients who need their dog boarded during the day. This service includes an hour off leash run and two bathroom breaks throughout the day.
This service is offered Monday through Friday. Drop off time is between 8:30 and 9:00 am, pick up time by 4:30 pm. A social assessment is not required.
Dogs must be up to date with vaccines including bordetella, and should be on flea/tick prevention and a deworming protocol.

Canine Social Club
Our canine social club takes a core social group approach. These groups are built and designed to foster confidence, socialization and are a great way to explore and grow with other dogs. Because of this approach, there is a degree of commitment. Our social groups are small, no more than 12 dogs per group, with an aim at keeping the dogs designated to group’s as consistent as possible.
Dogs are provided down time throughout the day, and are kennelled individually for safety. We provide ample opportunity for exploration through play, pack walks and engagement exercises, through basic obedience and interaction with items in the environment.
All social groups are overseen by an experienced dog trainer/handler.

Over Night Boarding
This service is available to clients who need boarding services extending beyond regular business hours. This service is available year round, and requires scheduled pick up and drop off times. We offer short term boarding (24 hours) and long term boarding (upwards of 4 weeks if needed). All dogs are housed individually of one another, and receive 3 - 4 one hour off leash opportunities every day.
Drop off and pick up service is offered Monday through Sunday. Drop off and pick up times are prescheduled. A social assessment is not required.

These lessons are 45 minutes each week, and are designed for puppies aged 8 to 20 weeks. This in depth course teaches training foundations, as well as puppy behaviour basics and desensitization.
We start with a 1 hour meet and greet Zoom orientation, to cover puppy learning theory.

puppy Kindergarten
Day Training Program
Our puppy kindergarten program is a hybrid between our board and train program and our
Puppy foundations program. It allows your puppy to be immersed and trained by us in a new
neutral environment at our facility for an entire day and is then sent home with detailed
instructions on continuing the work we have started. Small homework submissions are
required on a weekly basis.
We help your puppy achieve breakthroughs in their training while they're with us, which
you then reinforce throughout the week so we can move them into the next phase of their training plan.
This 4 week program includes a full day session once a week for four weeks that covers a range of behaviours including food luring, marker conditioning, motivation building, engagement, place training, recall, and the introduction to loose leash walking. There is also a Zoom puppy orientation session prior to class starting. Puppies also have several opportunities to play and socialize with other puppies enrolled in kindergarten (up to 6 per day), and work around other puppies for learning and training.
After each training day, we send home detailed instructional training videos and videos of your puppy’s progress. We provide homework goals of what is to be worked on and practiced, with a short homework submission due prior to their next breakthrough session. On the final week, you and your puppy will undergo a “final exam” working with the trainer on all topics covered.
This course will help you teach your puppy to become an attentive and well-mannered member of your family. You will learn how to address common behavioural issues, and teach your puppy basic obedience skills.
Learn how to address issues like jumping, biting, nipping, chewing, and handling skills.

We follow the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behaviour position statement on Puppy Socialization, that it should be the standard of care for puppies to receive the above socialization before they are fully vaccinated. Please inquire about our health policies for puppies.

Public Access Training and Certification
This training and certification is to ensure that the service dog, emotional support dog demonstrates appropriate public behaviour, proper disposition, and is unobtrusive in public places. The course includes 40 tasks to be completed in order to receive the public access certificate.
This assessment examines the temperament and disposition of the dog in a general public setting, such as a shopping mall. The dog’s behaviour will be assessed to determine if his or her disposition is calm, stable and reliable in situations commonly encountered by dog/handler teams. The assessment will also ensure that the handler has control over the dog at all times, that the dog is safe to be in public, and that the dog is able to demonstrate the high standard of training expected of service dogs/emotional support dogs.

This is a 5 week program where the dog is dropped off in the morning and picked up in the evening. After each training day, we send home detailed training videos of their progress, and what is to be worked on and practiced prior to their next breakthrough session. Teh day of the final session, you will meet with the trainer to discuss progress and review exercises.

Puppy Bootcamp

Are you having trouble training at home? Was pup off to a great start, and now things are slipping? Does your pup need some help getting over a behavioural hump? This 21 day puppy boot camp is a great way to sit back, relax and let us work out the kinks!
As in human development, puppies endure many of the same challenges as they mature. Between teething, continuous physical changes and hitting sexual maturity, all pups are prone to some regression in their behaviour in the first year. We are here to help!
Our program introduces a predictable and consistent structure that is designed to re-establish the family order. There is a large emphasis on independence, confidence building, impulse control and household manners.
On Leash Obedience Board & Train
4 week Duration
Our board and train program is a reset for your dog. We follow a very structured schedule and create a balance of training and play to help your dog easily understand expectations. We take on the bulk of the training by putting in thousands of reps, and working your dog multiple times each day to help your dog achieve goals.
Your dog will go home well-equipped with a new understanding of what is expected of them, and all you need to do is follow our in-depth guide, and continue reinforcing what we have started. All our board and train programs include a core understanding of obedience commands including:

You will receive weekly progress reports and check-ins. At the end of their stay, we send a video training guide of your dog, written training instructions and an in-depth lesson scheduled a few days after your dogs discharge from the program.
E collar Training Off-leash Obedience Board & Train Program
6 week duration
Our E collar board and train program is offered to any owner looking to gain full off-leash control of their dog. Distance and distracted recall is a focus of this program, while also implementing the tool to teach duration and distraction to all commands covered in our standard board and train program
behaviour modification
Behaviour modification is a lifestyle change for you and your dog. There is a large degree of desensitization and counterconditioning, paired with confidence building and obedience training. This change can be long, but we are with you every step of the way. Cases that require behaviour modification range from separation anxiety to aggression. Our behaviour modification programs are tailored to your dog's needs. All programs are built from information gathered through an in depth evaluation and assessment. Training Up Keep board & train
This option is available for dogs that are currently part of or have participated in a Black Hill program in the past.
Our training up keep board and train has a 7 day minimum, to brush up all the skills your dog has learned while training with us.
This is a great option for clients who wish to offer more to their dog during their stay, that is outside of our standard boarding stay.
We can brush up anything from obedience to e collar conditioning. We will help build a training upkeep plan to keep your dog busy while your away!
Day training upkeep program
This program is offered as part of our day training program. If your dog has completed any of our day training, board and train or private lesson programs, and you are looking to keep up their skills on a weekly basis, then our day training up keep program is for you!
Your dog will get engaging training sessions during the day, as well as social opportunities with other dogs. You dog will leave the day sharp and tired!
